It is a Friday afternoon, and I am in a reflective mood. This week’s Blogchatter Blog Hop prompt involves describing myself using some of the favourite pieces of content I have penned. After some thought, I interpreted it to mean that I have to look through my blog posts and pick out the interesting and memorable bits and pieces that can give people an idea about what sort of person I am. Ha Ha! In all honesty, I am one of those people who are a bit self-centred and this job is something I am going to enjoy.
Let me introduce myself by using this piece from the ‘About Me’ section of my blog…
My name is Sitharaam Jayakumar, and my friends call me Jai. I am fifty-six years old. I have nearly thirty years’ experience in the IT field… I am keenly interested in politics, music, cricket, books – both fiction and nonfiction, writing poetry, articles, and fictional stories. I am a B-Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT-BHU (formerly IT-BHU). I live in Cochin, Kerala, India with my wife and the joy of our lives, our sixteen-year-old daughter. My daughter is in the twelfth grade and is a competent violinist. I take a lot of interest in music myself.

I have always been a bit of a Moon dreamer. Here is an excerpt from one of my posts…
Those days my mother used to book tickets and take me to Tamil movies. These were generally the movies in which the doyens of Tamil Cinema of those times, Sivaji Ganesan and MGR acted as heroes.
In those movies, Sivaji and MGR would perform astounding feats of daring, courage and chivalry. Those days I used to dream of being like Sivaji and MGR, a do-gooder, he-man hero for whom clashing with ten burly men at the same time was child’s play. In my daydreaming stints, I used to do all those things which Sivaji and MGR did sprinkled liberally with bits and pieces from my own imagination.

I love poetry. Here is the video of my very first poem which I recited during a cultural program in my office…

I fell in love for the first time when I was 17. It was reciprocated by the opposite party, but nothing came of it. I was heart broken for a few months but soon forgot all about it. And today I am happily married to a wonderful woman and have a sixteen-year-old daughter…
Here is an excerpt…
The next lesson was Maths and Jayapal Chandra Sir would be teaching us integral Calculus. And I simply loved it.
As it is, my thoughts floated over to Pammi. I did not even know her full name. All I knew was everyone called her Pammi and I knew she was probably a Maharashtrian, and her surname was Joshi. She was the prettiest girl in the entire colony in which I lived, and I knew she reciprocated my feelings.

I have a hot temper… Here is an excerpt from a poem that mentions it… This poem was written on my daughter’s fifteenth birthday.
I know sometimes you feel upset with your dad
when he loses that hot temper he has,
and he bellows in that loud voice of his,
my dear, he means no harm, he’s just letting off steam.

I am kind… My maternal grandmother taught me to be kind… Here is an excerpt…
Another aspect of my granny’s character was her habit of feeding the poor, especially children. This has instilled in me the habit of doing something similar though not exactly the same. She used to cook food by herself and visit the Somanatha swami temple in Manamadurai where she lived, and feed the children crowding there in huge numbers. I on the other hand donate money to the child health foundation and other similar charities.

I think the above excerpts and posts will give you more than enough information about me. These are some of my favourite pieces of content. So long.

I remember reading most of this earlier. Yeah, you are quoting yourself. But the fact i remember it implies you are a memorable writer.
I am not too sure what the prompt was supposed to mean, Tom. I interpreted it as best as I could. To a person who is a newcomer to my blog this post could serve to introduce me.
Tom, I have further changed a few things now.
