The year was 2045 AD. Professor Jerome Jenkins the famous archaeologist was travelling to meet his team at the excavation site in Iraq. He and his team had discovered the site by a sheer stroke of luck the year before. The Iraqi government had permitted them to dig up the site with great difficulty. At first, they had refused outright. Then with the recommendation of the Iraqi ambassador, the British Government had managed to secure permission for just three weeks. Jerome had jumped at the chance and had dispatched his team to wait for him at the site in Baghdad. Soon Jerome’s flight landed and he came out of the airport. After a three-hour train journey and some trekking, he was at the site. That was when he got the shock of his life. A man exactly like him was giving directions to his workers. Jerome stood nonplussed for a moment. Then in a rage, he whipped out a gun from his backpack, pointed it at the imposter, and pulled the trigger…

The next morning the newspapers screamed…

The famous archaeologist Jerome Jenkins was shot dead yesterday afternoon by a gunman. The man looked exactly like the archaeologist. As per the POCBM (Policy Of Cloning Brilliant Minds) the famous archaeologist had offered himself for cloning and memory implantation at the Biotechnology lab in Angola. Unfortunately, his clone escaped from the lab and shot the famous archaeologist thinking he was the real Jerome James and the professor was an imposter. This incident underlines the dangers of artificial cloning and memory implants…
