The Woman Who travels Far And Wide Spreading Awareness Of The Dreaded Breast Cancer – #WATWB

Most of us suffer misfortunes in life at some time or the other. It is only the severity of the calamity that strikes our lives which varies. Some of us feel devastated by something as simple as failing in a crucial examination or failing to win sports competitions. There are others who face calamities that turn their lives upside down.

But in all this, there are a few people who stand strong during trying times and recover from the catastrophe and come out shining. Not only do they hold their head high and face their problems courageously, but sometimes the difficulties they have faced give them direction in their lives and provide them with an aim in life.

One such woman is Dr Ritu Biyani Joseph who is a dental surgeon by profession, a mountaineer, skydiver and paratrooper. She survived breast cancer in the year 2006. Her experience with the dreaded disease ended in her starting an initiative called High>>>Ways Beyond Cancer which is an amazing and unique drive to link adventure sports with cancer awareness across the length and breadth of India.

Her aim is to spread breast cancer awareness to remote corners of the country, particularly to the tribal and rural areas. Here are a couple of links where you can read about her and the initiative she has started.
